O M O N I A
The composers Roderik de Man and Arnoud Noordegraaf have written one-man-art musictheatre works for Jorge Isaac. OMONIA (the Greek word for "each-others compliment", "complete") is a multilingual unification of sound and visual media through which the spectator is drawn to observe in various layers. The three pieces are presented in the order:
1) "Voix égales" (Roderik de Man, 2005),
2) "STRUNG" (Arnoud Noordegraaf, 2005), and
3) "Mensa Secunda" -a condensed version for one musician and video- (Roderik de Man, 2005).

Mensa Secunda
A circular story of obsession and transformation. Four characters –Apicius, The Hired Chef and the slaves- , music, dance, space and video develop the plot. The story follows the obsession of a chef, the musician character, and its desperate search for the perfect recipe.
The music is built in three layers: tape music is the basis and times the whole piece, live blokflute playing explores all the range and textual possibilities of the instrument with remarkable ease, and live-electronic sound sample are triggered by a dancer –the Hired chef. The dancers’ movements evoke an organic, animal way of being. The two slaves characters creep across the stage and are as much actors as dancers.

Sensorial Acts

A practice-based research on the musician’s corporeality and theatricality in a live performance context, in which New Media collaborates with his craft/corporeality, mediating sounds and actions to create a meaningful (performance) space.
